{"id":1227,"date":"2019-02-04T08:47:43","date_gmt":"2019-02-04T05:17:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefibro-lupusbutterfly.com\/2019\/02\/04\/10-day-fibromyalgia-flare\/"},"modified":"2019-02-04T08:47:43","modified_gmt":"2019-02-04T05:17:43","slug":"10-day-fibromyalgia-flare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefibro-lupusbutterfly.com\/10-day-fibromyalgia-flare\/","title":{"rendered":"10 Day Fibromyalgia Flare"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>I have just been through an awful ten days of pain and a seemingly never-ending flare-up from Fibromyalgia.<\/h3>\n<p>When a flare starts, it may end in an hour, it may end in a day, but sometimes it goes on for over a week.<\/p>\n<h3>When you suffer from Fibromyalgia you NEVER KNOW how long a flare will last.<\/h3>\n<p>This one started (unexpectedly) days before my cycle began and lasted through an overlap of a strong headcold which knocked me off my feet and even gave me a low-grade temperature.  The aches from the cold were quadrupled from the Fibro and then multiplied to where I could barely function because of it.<\/p>\n<p>I curled up on my couch with a comfy pillow and soft blanket and could not move for two whole days. (Except to constantly blow my never-ending runny nose&#8230;)<\/p>\n<h3>When one is in the middle of a flare like this, it is hard to see through the pain. You <i>know<\/i> it will eventually end, but at that time you <i>cannot<\/i> see it, and that can be quite <i>overwhelming. <\/i><\/h3>\n<p>Add emotional anxiety to the mix and you may be a candidate for the funny farm.<\/p>\n<p>Feeling this way is <i>not funny.<\/i> But when you have Fibromyalgia this is all a part of a flare-up.<\/p>\n<p>Pain in the bones. Aches in the muscles. Joint pain mirroring arthritis&#8230;in <i>every joint.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Ugh! Do you <i>know<\/i> how many joints we have?????<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s enough to drive you <i>bonkers! <\/i><\/p>\n<h3>And then&#8230;one morning, or at one point in the day, it stops.<\/h3>\n<p>You realize the flare is over and with some hope in your mind, you expect all the pain to leave with it.<\/p>\n<p>But is doesn&#8217;t.  It is still there&#8230;only milder, duller, like it&#8217;s been &#8220;shelved &#8221; for later.  You can almost <i>feel<\/i> it hovering.<\/p>\n<p>But the &#8220;flare&#8221; is gone&#8230;for now.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t bother racking your brain for what caused it. Fibro-fog won&#8217;t let you remember, anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Ah&#8230;such is the life of a Fibromyalgia sufferer.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday I saw no end to the flare. Today, I felt the flare leave. How will I feel tomorrow?
