{"id":1274,"date":"2019-06-04T02:52:40","date_gmt":"2019-06-03T23:22:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefibro-lupusbutterfly.com\/?p=1274"},"modified":"2019-06-04T03:06:17","modified_gmt":"2019-06-03T23:36:17","slug":"fibromyalgia-and-plantar-fasciitis-bursitis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefibro-lupusbutterfly.com\/?p=1274","title":{"rendered":"Fibromyalgia and Plantar Fasciitis\/Bursitis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2>Fibromyalgia can cause all sorts of issues, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/plantar-fasciitis\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20354846\">Plantar Fasciitis<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthline.com\/health\/bursitis-foot\">Bursitis<\/a> are some of them!<\/h2>\n<p>I ought to know&#8230;I have recently seen a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.apma.org\/podiatristsFAQ\"> Podiatrist<\/a> for my chronic heel pain. I was thinking Fasciitis of some sort. The pain in both feet began a long time ago&#8230;yes, like years&#8230;but it was very intermittent and I figured it was due to what I had done that day, my shoes (<em>or lack of&#8230;hey, I always loved going bare foot!!<\/em>), or, most recently, to my never-ending list of Fibro symptoms!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, over the past few months my feet began to hurt all day! Literally, as soon as I put my feet on the ground first thing in the morning, the pain was <em>bad. <\/em>Today, the pain is excruciating to the point that it hurts to walk even a few steps, especially after sitting a while.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>So, off to meet the Podiatrist!<\/h2>\n<p>A routine exam showed Plantar Fasciitis. An ultrasound of both heels showed a thickening of the fascia (<em>I was told normal was 3mm&#8230;mine was 1cm&#8230;dealing with such small measurements I never realized that a 7mm difference was that big of a deal, but in this case, I guess it is!<\/em>) Plus, I had several &#8220;pockets&#8221; where the bursa had fibrosis. I was told to come back for a Cortisone injection. (<em>Actually, &#8220;Multiple injections in each heel,&#8221; he said as the ultrasound wand moved across the sole of each heel&#8230;I told him that &#8220;s&#8221; on the end of injections was pretty crucial to my mind wrapping around this new thought of coming back&#8230;<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>The Podiatrist also told me to purchase some shoes called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vionicshoes.com\/?msclkid=b7d415659d3718552f034990020d980a&amp;utm_source=bing&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_campaign=BS_Retention_Brand_Core-Terms_Exact&amp;utm_term=vionics&amp;utm_content=%23Vionic%20-%20EXACT\">Vionics<\/a>.&#8221; This brand is supposed to help with Plantar Fasciitis and give better arch support.
